The pencil holder is not the same its to small.
It was sold as product A09 if the design changes then its not the same product. You should say that in product description.
I'm not happy with the product. It won't hold my pen and pencil. Its either or.

Quality is poor, center pockets too small for a pen or pencil, belt is no longer cotton, and now nylon that keeps slipping on the buckle, requiring constant adjustment.

I purchased this apron about the end of April, 2023. I used it immediately, and from day one, found the pockets to be handy for holding screws and my tape measure, However, the biggest shortcoming was the placement of the slim pocket in the center of the apron. The size appears to be designed to hold a pencil. However, when the pencil is in the center pocket, and i bend over to do any work in my knees, or while squatting down, the pencil in that center pocket pokes me right in the middle of my stomach. Very uncomfortable and dangerous. I would recommend to Carhartt, to sew a small, narrow pencil holder pocket in the side if the apron ( the edge of the large pocket) to allow for a pencil to he inserted on the right hand side of the apron. Please make the slim pocket large enough to hold a carpenters pencil. In fact I've decided to have my wife stitch in the right hand side of that pocket , a small pocket on my apron, The belt is adjustable so that a medium fits a variety of waist sizes

Been wearing this apron for 25+ years. When it's time for a new I just buy another one without shopping for other brands. Just received a new one and it's definitely lower quality than previous ones. Time to start shopping for other brands!

I’ve been wearing this apron for 20 years. Whe one wears out, I purchase another without pause. It has been something I could count on for durability and all round ruggedness. Sadly, I’ve noticed with my newest one, it is clearly made of sub par material. The belt is paper thin, and the the center slot sits differently than before. I believe they used to be made in Mexico, whereas this one was made in India. Honestly Carhartt, let’s bring manufacturing back home and charge a few more dollars. I’d gladly pay more for a U. S. Made product. All of my tools are made here, it’s about time you guys bring it home. Thank you for reading!

Been using these for 19 years. All of a sudden they change the size of the center slot. Can’t fit my tape measure in there anymore. Slop garbage.
