Boots fit well and look good

Very happy with these boots!!! My third pair of Merrell boots and my first for winter — sizing was SPOT ON to my expectation. The grip is good, the boots are Saturday and WARM. I have cleared snow and been out walking — very satisfied.

A very warm pair of mid-height boots! Sole stays flexible in very cold weather, giving you grip on icy surfaces.

Je veux partager mon expérience avec des bottes incroyables que j’ai récemment achetées. Ces bottes sont légères, ce qui les rend parfaites pour marcher de longues distances sans fatigue. De plus, elles sont extrêmement confortables, s’adaptant à la forme de mon pied et offrant un soutien exceptionnel. L’une des caractéristiques les plus remarquables est leur isolation contre le froid. Peu importe à quel point le climat est glacial, mes pieds restent chauds et confortables.

Most of my shoes are Merrell and I decided to try for boots. I usually take wide but they didn't have the model for the chameleon. Unfortunately, the gave me blisters for a 2hr winter hike. If you have large feet, don't take any chances. I hope they make a wide model one day.

Pretty disappointed. I had purchased one pair which cracked after one winter. But I figured that perhaps salt got the best out of them. So I got a second pair. I literraly babied them!!!I have saturated them with vison oil then worn them OCCASIONNALY as my "nice boots", avoid rubbing against anything and after EVERY outting I would deep them in clear water to washed them out of any salt deposit with my hands and asponge. After less than 4 years of that regiment the boots look spectacular (you would get hardpressed to tell them apart from one winter used boots) but they still cracked at creases which appeared from normal walking. For boots that expensive to fail in such way after so much nonstop care is absolutely insane. If you don't care and are ok with spending that kind of money every 2 years (because no sane person will go through the dedication that I have shown to my boots) then yeah sure they are fantastic winter boots and are waterproof but otherwise don't buy these thinking you are spending on "quality" cause I have no doubt there are more resistant boots out there. For instance I have a pair of Nike winter boots that somehow is outliving my two pairs of Merrells AFTER they actually reached what I thought was their time to be replaced which got me to acquire Merrells Chameleon!!!!). At that price I would have hope for at least 5 years of legit usage without babying.

I absolutely love these boots. The comfort is extreme right off the shelf, they fit my foot beautifully. I just purchased my second pair, and likely will get a third! The biggest downfall, and why I've had to buy a new pair after less than a year of wear... The straps that hold the laces in place up the front of the boot along the tongue have all pulled loose on one foot, and are starting to let go on the other. The only design flaw. Comfort is Apex, longevity leaves a bit to be desired. But overall function is fantastic. Excellent water resistance, and durable boot overall, with a flexible soul that provides top shelf traction on almost any surface.

I didn't know what to expect and was thinking I would have to return these a couple of times before the correct size and feel were right. These fit perfectly right out of the box. Heavy enough for you to feel the protection and light enough that you do not feel like you are going to be tired from lifting your legs in the first mile. No slippage. Great grip on the bottoms. The waterproofing works well and I like the ankle support. Your feet stay warm and dry during winter months. (I am in South Carolina so I am speaking only of winter rain not snow). I bought them for my first 20 mile hike at the Mammoth March in May. Considering temperatures will be warmer I may be considering the Speed 2 Mid for the hike and spring and summer months and the Moab 3 for everyday wear. Being an old dude in my 50's 😁 I have not ventured from my reliable Reeboks since the 80's 😂. But I have found my new brand. I am very happy to have found Merrell.
